MERCED — November 2, 2026. Merced’s council agenda includes the city’s 2026–2036 Parks, Recreation and Open Space Master Plan, intended as a long-range guide for facility maintenance, recreation programs and future capital projects.
A ten-year planning framework
The plan covers park development, capital spending priorities, maintenance, open-space designation and partnerships. Such a framework can help the city prioritize improvements, but it does not mean every proposed facility is funded.
Public accountability
Merced’s agenda materials frame the plan as a proposed resolution and council consideration. Residents should review official adopted minutes and later budget allocations to determine which recommendations become commitments.
How to follow projects
The city maintains an Engage Merced platform where park projects, community design processes and roadwork appear. Property owners and park users can review engagement materials and upcoming Recreation and Parks Commission meetings.
